The daughter of late Aslan legend Christy Dignam has thrown her support behind calls to outlaw scramblers, paying an emotional tribute to teen Grace Lynch.Grace (16) lost her fight for life at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown after she was struck by a scrambler in Finglas on Sunday, January 25, while she crossed the road at a pedestrian crossing. Locals stated Grace was on her way to meet her boyfriend Harry and was crossing the road when she was struck down.Keith Lee, 18, of Park View Drive, Poppintree Park in Dublin 11, was arrested on Sunday and has since been charged with dangerous driving causing death at Ratoath Road in Finglas. He appeared before Blanchardstown District Court on Tuesday, January 27 where his solicitor Wayne Kenny said his client made "full and frank" admissions. Lee was granted bail with a number of conditions and is due back before the court on May 1 for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.Just a day after Grace's tragic death, more than a thousand people, including Grace's parents Siobhan and Martin, took part in a memorial walk from where the crash occurred to her intended destination at Plunkett Grove. Heartbroken Siobhan told reporters: "It's not something that any parent should have to deal with. I will fight and I will fight to get these scramblers and scooters off the streets."Now singer Kiera Dignam has also backed calls for scramblers to be banned in their community, saying it has "gotten way out of hand." Kiera, who is also from Finglas, wrote on social media shortly after Grace's tragic death: "I can't even comprehend what Grace's family are going through and what her poor parents had to witness, the situation with scramblers in our community has gotten way out of hand and has been left get to this point and it's not ok."Something has to be done! Please sign the petition and get them banned," Kiera wrote.
