Dublin 8 chaos as multiple cars set on fire in shocking arson spree
Dublin 8 was thrown into chaos in the early hours of Thursday morning as gardai responded to shocking series of vehicle fires across the area.At around 4.45am, gardai attended to reports of three cars ablaze outside homes on the South Circular Road.While at the scene, officers were alerted to another vehicle on fire at St Anne's Road, around 100 metres away, and asked Dublin Fire Brigade to assist.A fifth car parked nearby also suffered damage in the incidents.Thankfully no injuries were reported following the arson attacks.Earlier today, investigating officers arrested a man aged in his 30s in connection with the fires.Officers say they are investigating "all the circumstances" in relation to the incidents and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí attached to Kevin Street Garda Station are investigating all the circumstances in relation to a number of incidents of criminal damage by fire to vehicles that took place in the Dublin 8 area during the early hours of Thursday, 11th December 2025."At approximately 4:45am yesterday morning, Gardaí responded to reports of three cars on fire outside residences on the South Circular Road."While attending the scene, members were notified of another car on fire on St Anne's Road, approximately 100 metres away, and requested the services of Dublin Fire Brigade to assist. Damage was caused to an additional fifth car parked adjacent to this vehicle."No injuries were reported."Investigating members have today arrested a man (aged in his 30s) in connection with this incident. The man is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR)."Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigation team in Kevin Street Garda Station at 01 666 9400, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
