Storm Bram named by Met Eireann as Orange wind warnings issued for 11 counties

Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Wexford will be under the Orange alert from 7am until 3pm on Tuesday.The Orange warning for Clare, Limerick, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, May0 and Sligo will kick in at 10am on Tuesday and remain in place until 6pm. The nationwide Yellow wind warning will last for 18 hours - from 3am on Tuesday until 9pm.A Status Yellow rain alert for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford will hit at 9pm tonight and remain until 9am tomorrow. Met Eireann has warned Storm Bram will bring very strong to gale force southerly winds with the strongest winds along the coast.The areas under Orange wind warnings will experience flooding of low-lying coastal areas - especially during high tide, wave overtopping, difficult travel conditions, debris and loose objects displaced, and outdoor events impacted.Storm Bram is caused by a deepening Atlantic low-pressure system. It is going to "deepen fairly rapidly as it approaches the country on Monday night", Met Eireann advised.Meteorologist Matthew Martin said: "Initially there will be a spell of heavy rain before a swathe of very strong winds develop.
