Dublin wind warning issued as washout Friday forecast by Met Eireann
A woman struggles with her umbrella during Storm Claudia in Dublin(Image: Collins)Dublin and three other counties will be under a Status Yellow wind warning today as miserable weather hits Ireland.The Status Yellow wind warning will be in place for Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford and Waterford from 11am on Friday until 5pm on Friday. Met Eireann warned there will be strong to gale force and gusty southeasterly winds, causing difficult travelling conditions and debris.Met Eireann's forecast for today says it will become wet and windy this morning with rain extending from the southwest and turning heavy in places. Southeasterly winds will increase strong and gusty with gales at times on south and east coasts.The rain will give way to scattered showers later in the afternoon or evening, as the winds ease moderate to fresh south to southwesterly. Some of the showers will be heavy. Highest afternoon temperatures of 11 or 12 degrees are forecast.Tonight will bring a good deal of cloud overall with scattered showers and with more persistent rain in parts. There'll be some clear drier spells too. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with mostly light to moderate south to southwest winds.Tomorrow, Saturday, will be generally breezy and fairly showery for the morning and early afternoon, with more persistent rain in some areas. There'll just be limited sunny spells for a time, with the best of any drier weather early on will be in southern parts.Through the afternoon, there should be more in the way of bright or sunny spells developing, especially further south, with showers becoming isolated.
