Late night Christmas public transport services launch from tonight on Dart, rail, bus and Luas

Dublin, Ireland- A busy bridge roadway in the city of Dublin, the capitol of the Republic of Ireland located on Ireland's eastern coast.Starting this evening, late night DART, commuter rail, Luas and 24-hour bus services will run across Dublin and the Greater Dublin Area over the Christmas period.This will include services over New Years. Minister for Transport, Climate, Energy and the Environment Darragh O'Brien said that the increased services will allow people to "get home safely and efficiently by using public transport."The extended services will run for the three weekends up until Christmas, and into the New Year."Commuter services will run late for the three weekends up to Christmas and for the first time actually at New Year's Eve. So we'll have services running up to half one, two am in the morning, right the way across Dublin and the Greater Dublin area, which is great," said Minister O'Brien."That will also be supplemented by our existing late night busses that are in place. Transdev and Luas are going late as well through through the Christmas period."And also we have our first 24 hour busses which are running right the way through the year. So there's a great public transport offering over Christmas. I hope people do get in and enjoy the festive season in the city center and allow them to get home safely and efficiently by using public transport."Dublin, Ireland - March 22, 2023: streetcarFor the Luas, Night Luas trams will run on both the Red and Green Lines until the early hours of the morning on selected nights over Christmas and the New Year. The Night Trams run until around 3.00am instead of curtailing at 00.30pm, which is the usual time Luas services cease for the night.The Night Trams will begin on the Red and Green Lines on Friday 12 December, Saturday 13 December, Friday 19 December, and Saturday 20 December with an 8 pm finish on Christmas Eve. The Night Luas will also run on Wednesday 31 December.Night Luas trams will run in both directions, collecting passengers at all stops on the Green Line and Red Line; however, the last Night Luas trams will only run Westbound from The Point Luas Stop on the Red Line and Southbound from Broombridge on the Green Line.Luas will run normal Operating Hours and Frequency from Friday 2 January.Information on all the Night Tram Luas services over Christmas and the New Year, including Night Luas services, is available Always check the Real Time Info online, on the Luas App, or at the Luas Stop before travelling.Meanwhile, Dublin Bus has announced their updated schedule for over the festive period, including the weekends leading up to Christmas and the first days of January.
