Fresh clashes erupted between riot police and student protesters in Paris on October 8 as France's school protests entered their third week.

Teenagers blocked streets in eastern Paris despite Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu's promise to announce concrete measures by the end of October to address teacher shortages and deteriorating school buildings.

The unrest comes as students and teachers also staged protests in Belgium, Spain and Portugal on October 7, although these were separate national demonstrations.
