France’s Education Minister Edouard Geffray faced fierce questioning in the National Assembly over the government’s handling of nationwide student protests. Opposition MPs confronted him over allegations of serious injuries suffered by young protesters during demonstrations, including claims of severe injuries allegedly caused by police. La France Insoumise MP Marie Mesmeur accused the government of failing to protect students and challenged Geffray over calls for restraint.
