'Too early to make decisions' on who could be behind Fairford case, says defence secretary

Speaking after the government's COBRA meeting, the defence secretary praised the "exemplary" police and security response to the RAF Fairford incident on Sunday.

"The police and the security services have done everything that they could and should have been doing rapidly to help contain this situation," Wes Streeting said.

He added the "investigation remains ongoing" but gave "assurance to the residents" that the area is "safe for them to return".
