The Korean national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 is underway, with filming taking place in Seoul.
South Korea’s search for their first representative for the Eurovision Song Contest Asia has commenced, with filming underway for ‘Korea’s Next Wave‘. Through social media posts, it has been established that filming has already commenced for elements of the Korean national selection, with filming having taken place in Seoul in late July.
ENA, the Korean broadcaster organising the nation’s participation in the competition, has not publicly confirmed the name of its selection, nor the phase that the selection is currently in. Applications to compete and represent South Korea at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia closed on June 30, with the final of the selection due to take place on September 4.
Eurovision Song Contest Asia
The first Eurovision Song Contest Asia will be held on November 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Like the Eurovision Song Contest, each country’s participation is organised by a participating broadcaster. Each participating broadcaster is expected to select its entry through holding a national final in their country.
The format of the national selections will be revealed in the coming months, with some countries opting to hold multi-week selections.
The rules of the contest will match those of the Eurovision Song Contest, meaning that a song must not exceed 3 minutes in length and no more than 6 people can be on stage. The winner will be determined by 50% televoting and 50% jury voting.
