Burnt Arches Review | “There’s a New Golden Arches in Town”

This famous West London brunch spot has opened a new site in East LondonBurnt, which already has a cult following in West London for its brunch, has opened a new spot in Bethnal Green – and this one has an in-house bakery and serves dinner four nights a week. Set in an old railway arch, the team have transformed it into a bright, airy space filled with flowers and seasonal ingredients on display to add colour. Even the graff outside feels intense through the light of these golden arches.Eat ThisThe menu is super seasonal so it switches up almost daily, though there are some dishes that stay around. There’s a good injection of trendy ingredients too. We loved the crispy chicken skin with avo and anchovy from the snacks menu; the pile of chicken kaarage with lemon hot honey; and crab risotto with miso cured egg yolk and nduja butter. There’s also some fun twists on familiar dishes like the ox tongue katsu and some excellent triple cooked chips with miso.Drink This Things are kept simple with a handful of cocktails including a martini. Then there’s wines from nearby Top Cuvee with nearly all available by the glass. Start with a Pet Nat and continue with a chilled red – this is East London after all.Why GoIt’s a great new addition to the Bethnal Green backstreets; the produce-led cooking is familiar yet fun with a crowd pleasing menu that everyone will be able to get onboard with.Key InformationAddress | 278 Poyser Street, London, E2 9RFFor more information | burntrestaurant.co.uk
