Spain is under storm and flood warnings again as bad weather shows no sign of easing
The weather warnings for Spain have been raised from Yellow to Orange as a storm surge in the Atlantic bears down on the country, engulfing the most popular holiday destinations in floods.
A weather system bringing hail, rain, and storm-force winds is currently crossing the country, and several holiday hotspots, favoured by Irish tourists, are currently seeing torrential rain and flooding, with major roads impassable due to the weather.
If you are planning a holiday to Spain in the next few days, be sure to bring a raincoat and an umbrella, as this weather system shows no signs of easing.

This morning, giant waterspouts were seen just off the coast of La Manga, on the Costa del Sol, with local residents and holidaymakers alike rushing indoors to escape the worst of the storm.
Southern Spain has been getting unseasonably wet and windy so far this year, with freak storms and extreme weather events occurring every other week along the normally sunny coastline.

Roads in parts of Murcia on the Southeast coast were turned into fast-flowing rivers after torrential rains caused flash flooding, engulfing parked cars and causing holidaymakers to run for cover.
Residents who were caught unawares by the flooding saw their cars floating in deep water as unrelenting downpours brought a deluge in just a few hours.
A number of fast-moving water tornadoes appeared offshore off the Costa Del Sol this morning, generating fear among holidaymakers in the normally sunny holiday hotspot.

From the Balearic Islands, right across the country to Murcia in the South East, rain, hail, and high winds are causing havoc since making landfall on Thursday.
Spain’s Meteorological Agency, AEMET, has issued weather warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms across all parts of Spain.
But it seems the popular holiday sunspots in the Canary Islands will escape the bad weather, and also, the community of Extremadura will enjoy seasonal sunshine.
The Valencian Community along the Southeast coast of the Costa Blanca is suffering the worst of the weather, with the coastline from Valencia to Alicante and farther south to Murcia experiencing the most severe conditions.
