Mother and baby found dead at a house in Tipperary as Gardaí investigate
The bodies of a woman and a newborn baby girl have been found at a house in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary.
Emergency services and Gardaí attended the scene at a residential property in the Knocknaconnery area this afternoon.
It is understood that a man known to the woman contacted emergency services after attending the property.

Several units of An Garda Síochána, ambulance personnel, and fire services responded to the scene.
The area has since been sealed off for a technical examination, and the State Pathologist has been notified.
Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
According to local radio station Tipp FM, initial inquiries are examining the possibility that the woman, who was in her 30s and an infant girl, may have died during a home birth.
Investigators are understood to be keeping an open mind while inquiries continue, with the incident currently being treated as a personal tragedy.
