Firefighters race to tackle blaze at Knocklyon primary school
Dublin Fire Brigade extinguished a fire at St Colmcille’s S.N.S in Knocklyon.The firefighters responded to the scene just before 9pm on Wednesday night, and had the blaze under control in an hour. The flames were located on the school's third floor, said Dublin Fire Brigade.No injuries were reported. No cause for the fire has been given by Dublin Fire Brigade.Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed that they attended a scene at Scholarstown Road."At 2044 hrs on Wednesday 6th May Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) responded to reports of an institutional fire off the Scholarstown Road" a spokesperson told Dublin Live."Initial calls indicated that fire had taken hold on the third floor of the building."Two fire engines from Rathfarnham and Tallaght fire stations were able to deal with the fire which was under control by 2144 hrs."No injuries were reported and all DFB units left the scene at 2215 hrs."Images shared by @knocklyonnetwork on social media show the fire brigade attending the incident.When contacted by Dublin Live, the school declined to comment.Want to see more of the stories you love from Dublin Live?
