Downtown Rock Hill taproom to close after nearly three years in business
ROCK HILL — A popular taproom in downtown Rock Hill announced May 4 that it will close at the end of the month after nearly three years in business.Hoppin’ Rock Hill, a self-serve, pay-by-the-ounce taproom, opened at 110 Southern St. in Rock Hill in June 2023.Its closure follows that of the Greenville location, which closed in December 2025 after six years of operation.“After nearly three unforgettable years of rooftop sunsets, countless late nights, and memories, Hoppin’ Rock Hill will be closing its doors at the end of this month,” owners Joe and Sue Gulledge wrote in a message shared on the Hoppin’ RH Facebook page.
Rather than slowly ramping down, Hoppin’ has planned a monthlong celebration called “THE 3ND” leading up to its third anniversary and closing party on May 30.
With various trivia games, theme nights and events scheduled through the end of May, there are still plenty of chances for Rock Hill residents to visit before it closes for good.“If you've never gotten to stop by before, or if you've been here since June of 2023, we'd love to get the chance to see you at one of these events at least one last time,” the Gulledges wrote.Hoppin’ has other locations in North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, including two taprooms opening soon in Matthews, N.C., and Franklin, Tenn.
