Following her funeral on Friday, the Late Late Show paid a moving tribute to Moya, sharing a video of her performing on the Late Late in 1982.
Tributes flooded in for Moya during the Late Late‘s tribute video, with one commenting: ‘The voice of Clannad got a beautiful, fitting and very well deserved farewell today in her native Gweedore Parish. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h’anam dílis Moya Brennan.’
‘Awe-inspiring vocals,’ another commented, while another added: ‘What a beautiful lady, so so sorry we have lost her, another beautiful person gone but never forgotten xx love to all her family and friends xx.’

Moya’s funeral took place in her native Donegal on Friday, with Daniel O’Donnell and his wife Majella, and members of U2 in attendance to pay their final respects to the singer.
A local primary school, a musical marching band and staff from a community centre formed a guard of honour outside of the church, while her song Peacemaker, which featured her then four-year-old son Paul, played as her coffin entered the church.
Some of the symbols of the singer’s life were brought to the front of the church by loved ones, including her beloved harp, a lanyard from the last gig she played, and a Donegal GAA jersey, during the presentation of life symbols.
‘‘Through her singing and harp-playing, she gave expression not only to melody, but to the deep spirit, beauty, and soul of her people and place,’ An tAth. Brian Ó Fearraigh told mourners.
In 2023 Máire won the Donegal person of the year, and with Clannad was awarded the Freedom of Donegal in 2024, the beauty of our county and it’s people, it’s hills and valleys, it’s mountains, its wild seas and Atlantic winds, and silence of Donegal, in and through Máire, all of this and much more, the ancient Celtic soul found voice and harp.
‘And we are grateful.’
