Designed specifically for those likely to find themselves travelling with their kit, the new Tenba Roadie v2 Collection includes versions designed to ease transportation and resist damage to gear. We tested out the International and Air models to see what they have to offer the professional. WORDS: TERRY HOPE  AS A PROFESSIONAL the chances are that you have a need on occasions to travel with your kit, and when that happens it’s crucial to keep it safe and easy to transport. If you’re flying there’s also an additional requirement to have it contained within a case that meets carry-on regulations, since you’ll not want to trust the tools that power your livelihood to the hold. Tenba looked at this issue and addressed it with its Roadie Collection of roller bags, and has now unveiled V2 of the product, which features three spinner versions designed to glide smoothly over a wide range of surfaces, plus the larger Roadie Roller 24, which comes with the capacity to accommodate complete lighting or cinema set-ups for location work. We’re taking a look at two of the spinners, the International, which can fit two to three mirrorless, DSLR or cine cameras, together with eight to ten lenses (up to 400mm f/2.8 or 180-600mm) plus a laptop up to 16ins, and the Air Case, which comes with similar spec but is also designed to be super tough, being able to withstand over 240kg of pressure. The new V2 Collection has been several years in the making, involving input from imagemakers located all around the world. Designed by Tenba to provide protection to delicate gear, they’re also made for travel, with custom-designed WideTrak spinner wheels to ensure smooth transportation, a hidden pocket compatible with AirTag and Tile trackers and optional removeable backpack straps to enable the cases to be carried comfortably over any terrain. The cases also come with water-repellent 1680D ballistic nylon interiors, durable YKK zippers, stress point reinforcements and infinitely configurable interiors, which can be removed to enable the cases to be swiftly transformed into conventional carry-on luggage for a weekend away. They are also, needless to say, designed to meet the strictest carry-on and travel regulations, so that creator and cameras are unlikely ever to be forcibly separated.
