Tia Mowry Steps Out in Sheer Lingerie: ‘Maybe I’ve Always Been This Woman’
Tia Mowry is reminding audiences that the version of her that many people still carry from Sister, Sister is no longer the full story. According to Hot 97, the actress drew immediate attention after posting a video of herself wearing sheer black lingerie, black heels, a leather jacket, and sunglasses while dancing to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “Déjà Vu.” “Maybe it’s déjà vu,” Mowry wrote in the caption. “Or maybe I’ve always been this woman.” The line reframed the post from a thirst trap into something more deliberate: a statement that the image audiences attached to her for decades may never have reflected who she actually was.Alongside her twin sister Tamera, she became one of the defining faces of 1990s television through Sister, Sister, then carried that same family-friendly image into reality television, Hallmark movies, and lifestyle programming. Even now, more than 25 years after the sitcom ended, Mowry is still routinely introduced to audiences through the lens of the twin dynamic. But Tamera Mowry-Housley recently made clear that the sisters themselves have spent years trying to break out of that framework. Speaking on the Barely Famous podcast last month, Tamera said living together as adults forced both women to confront how different they had become.“For years, my sister and I lived together,” she said. “One of the hardest transitions of my life being a twin, was that move.”She explained that the sisters argued because each expected the other to remain the person she had always been. “Then she would force me to be like her, and then I’d force her to be like me,” Tamera said. “We were so used to being the same.”According to Tamera, the turning point came when they realized they were not meant to mirror each other. “You’re the yin to my yang,” she said. “We actually balance each other out.” Since her 2023 divorce from Cory Hardrict, Mowry has been noticeably more candid about aging, independence, dating, and rediscovering herself in her 40s. That does not mean she is distancing herself from her past. Tamera said last year that the sisters recently reunited in New York, where they spent time eating Italian food, shopping, and reconnecting away from the spotlight. “It was good for our souls,” she said.
