M&S bets big on comfort with largest lingerie range to date

M&S has called the new exclusive lingerie range, Body, a “modern reset” of its product offering, backed by “100 years of expertise” in lingerie. The new range marks its largest to date, offering a range of bras, briefs and shapewear. Prices start from £14 for a 3 pack of thongs and range between £18 and £24 for bras. The new lingerie campaign follows recent M&S research which showed that 99% of women prioritise comfort when it comes to lingerie purchases, while 89% of survey respondents opt for lingerie that boosts their confidence. The solution-led collection features lingerie styles such as seamless underwear, padded and non-padded bras, and shapewear. The designs are made to be mixed and matched, all in a sleek, minimalist aesthetic.  The 300 pieces are introduced across four collections – Body Invisibles for no show underwear, Body Sculpt for cooling shapewear, Body Soft for smooth comfort and Body Lace for barely-there lace lingerie. All pieces include 360 degree stretch, seamless edges and “sculpting, smoothing and minimising solutions”. Charlotte Davies, director of lingerie at M&S, said: “Lingerie is in our DNA, and we are raising the bar once again with the launch of our new Body range of smoothing lingerie. “Supported by 100 years of lingerie expertise, the collection brings together stylish silhouettes, immaculate fabrics and innovative features and benefits. Every detail is considered, every finish is precise and every fit is flawless. “The collection is designed to support women with modern underwear solutions which smooth, sculpt, and shape whilst delivering a flawless fit, and all-day-long comfort.” The news comes after M&S also announced the launch of a new monthly capsule programme titled Love That Drop in March, which will feature pieces of clothing, accessories and footwear which align with the latest catwalk looks and emerging style trends.
