How Vinted made €1 billion in sales

From car boots to charity shops, we often love buying second-hand goods at a bargain price, writes Emily Hawkins. And that enthusiasm has translated into the digital age, with online marketplace Vinted making over €1bn in sales last year. The re-ale app’s global sales reached €1.1bnin 2025 – a 38% jump compared to the previous year. It comes amid a boom in demand for preowned clothes at a heavy discount, while fast-fashion websites such as Asos and Boohoo struggle to keep shoppers. The total value of products sold on Vinted last year was €10.9bn – with such figures meaning it may be worth nearly €8bn. Although the Lithuanian-founded firm is best known for its fashion stock, users can now sell and buy used goods in other categories, which has helped its growth. Retail analyst Jonathan De Mello said: “We have become a nation of digital rag-and-bone men, obsessively haggling over a Zara blouse as if it were a Ming vase.” (Pic: Getty Images)
