Cygnum to create 150 jobs with €8m Cork factory extension

Cygnum Timber Frame has opened an €8m factory extension at its headquarters in Macroom, Co Cork. The expansion, which will increase the company's production capacity from 1,400 to 2,500 housing units per year, will support will support the future hiring of 150 new employees. Cygnum designs, manufactures and installs timber frame structures for residential developments and has becomes a significant contributor to Ireland's offsite construction sector. The new extension incorporates advanced manufacturing technologies and digitalisation, enabling greater precision, improved efficiency, and more sustainable use of materials. The company was recently acquired by Chadwicks Group, the builders' merchant and subsidiary of Grafton Group. “This expansion is a clear demonstration of Cygnum’s ambition and capability. Increasing capacity to this level is a significant step in supporting the delivery of new homes at the pace and scale required," said Patrick Atkinson, CEO of Chadwicks Group.
