According to a post on Pinky Revenge Arcade's Facebook page, the establishment is highlighting the new liability laws passed in South Carolina. In the post, the establishment released the following statement:When I created Pinky’s Revenge arcade it was meant to bring people of different walks of life closer together. We succeeded in that quest of friends, family and gaming. Hundreds of kid’s Birthday parties, first dates and new memories for thousands of our customers. Unfortunately, Pinky’s has become part of the growing statistic of family-owned establishments closing because of the greed in our state house. The legislators in SC have dramatically failed the people and business owners of SC. Thousands of hard workers in the bar and restaurant business have lost their jobs due to the greed in Columbia. It is time for a drastic change in SC and in those who are supposed to work for South Carolinians. The new laws passed for liability were supposed to help relieve some of the insurance issues in South Carolina, but made it worse for most establishments like ours. We navigated everything that the lawmakers asked us to do to help prevent over serving or serving under 21 etc. We paid for server training, we bought in the ID scanners and checked off the list of demands they placed on us. Needless to say it made no difference and my insurance went up over $17,000 for the year. The insurance companies decided that 50,000 per year was now the minimum even if we are totally compliant with the new laws, so It was all BS in the end. Pinky's Revenge and the lounge at Pinky's will be closing sometime in the next week. I cannot give an exact date as of now, but I want to thank all the friends of the arcade. The bands, DJs etc for 5 amazing years at the Taylors Mill. I’d like to thank Caleb Lewis, owner of the mill, for doing everything possible to keep us going and being an encouragement through it all.In a post later on, the owner said:I totally forgot to mention Pinky’s Revenge arcade will reopen in a few weeks in downtown Greer SC!!! Still all your favorite games and pinballs and we will be adding new pinballs! I have a few other secrets, but I’ll wait on those for now!!! Honestly thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the love and support you have given us. Continue to follow us and I will announce an opening date and all details on the arcade.
