More than 4,000 still without power following Storm Dave
Up to 18,000 homes, farms and businesses were without power as Storm Dave battered the country on Saturday.
A yellow weather warning for wind was in place throughout the day, which expired overnight.
As of 8am on Sunday morning, 4,500 homes, farms and businesses remain without power, as ESB Networks work to restore it.

A statement from the electricity distributor warned the public not to touch or approach any fallen electric wires.
Meanwhile, Dublin Airport have issued an update following a day of cancellations, warning that further cancellations and delays could take place on Sunday.
On Saturday, the airport confirmed that there were up to 53 go arounds and 13 diversions due to ‘challenging wind conditions.’

At least 17 flights were cancelled on the day, with the airport taking to X to urge passengers flying on Saturday evening and Sunday morning to contact their airlines directly for updates regarding their flights.
Fortunately, good weather is on the way with Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly revealing a ‘brief’ blast of warm air is on the way in the coming week.
The weather expert noted there would be highs of 16C, but the public are warned not to put the umbrellas and big jackets away just yet.

‘A brief blast of warm air on Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures up to 16C before dropping back quickly on Thursday,’ Alan shared.
Met Éireann added that the week would be pretty unsettled, with just some bit of reprieve from the dark and dreary conditions.
It will be a windy start to the week, with patchy outbreaks and light drizzle on Monday, though brighter spells are forecast heading into the afternoon.
The night will be dry but cloudy which will then lead to some scattered showers.
While high temperatures are predicted for Tuesday, there is plenty of rain forecast for the day also.
