Missing girl found alive over three decades later
A girl who went missing over three decades ago has been located, alive and well.
Christina Marie Plante was just 13 years old when she was last seen walking towards stables where she kept her horse, back in 1994.
Officials in Star Valley, Arizona, where she was from, believed that Christina was abducted. They classified her disappearance as happening under ‘endangered and suspicious circumstances.’

While the case went cold for over 30 years, it was handed over to the Gila County Sheriff’s Office, which used modern investigative techniques to discover new leads in the missing person case.
As a result of the new investigation, it transpired that Christina, who is now 44 years old, was found alive and well.
‘The formation of the Gala County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit marked a renewed commitment to unresolved investigations,’ Gala County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. ‘Using advances in technology, modern investigative techniques, and detailed case review, detectives developed new leads that ultimately led to a breakthrough.’
‘Through the use of current technology, the Gala County Sheriff’s Office was able to verify that Christina Marie Plante is alive and living within the United States,’ the office confirmed.
The Sheriff’s office added that Ms Plante confirmed that she is, in fact, the missing girl, but wouldn’t cooperate with investigators surrounding the circumstances of her disappearance.
Separately, it comes as there was a huge development in the case of a girl who was found after she disappeared six years ago, when she was just five years old.

Karen, who’s now aged 11, was found last month, over 2,600 miles away, in Washington County, North Carolina — living under a new name and attending school in the state.
It’s understood that the girl’s mother had custody of her at the time that she was reported missing, and it has been reported that she ceased contact with the Department of Children and Family Services during the time of her disappearance. She was suspected of having taken her when she disappeared.
It has since been reported that Karen is back with her mother, and no criminal charges will be filed.
