Business as usual message after Coleraine BID meeting on planned rallies
Coleraine Business Improvement District (BID) facilitated an important meeting with levy payers this week to address concerns and provide clarity ahead of the proposed rallies scheduled to take place in Coleraine town centre this Saturday.
The session was attended by PSNI Causeway Coast and Glens District Commander, Superintendent Yvonne McManus, along with Inspector Bjorn O’Brien, who outlined policing plans in place and answered questions from local businesses.
The key message from the meeting was clear — it is expected to be business as usual across the town centre.
The PSNI confirmed that they are not advising businesses to close, with appropriate measures in place to ensure public safety and minimise disruption.
It was also recognised that individual businesses may choose to make their own decisions based on their specific circumstances.
Speaking following the meeting, a spokesperson for Coleraine BID said: “This was a very useful and constructive session for our levy payers. It allowed businesses to hear directly from the PSNI, ask questions, and gain reassurance around the plans in place for Saturday.
"Our priority is to ensure businesses feel informed, supported and confident in their decision-making.”
Coleraine BID will continue to work closely with partners, including the PSNI and Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council to support businesses and ensure clear, consistent communication.
