Appeal launched after man's body discovered at apartment in Cookstown
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a man's body was discovered at an apartment complex in south Dublin yesterday.The body of the man, who was in his 50s, was found at an apartment in Cookstown, Dublin 24 on Friday afternoon. His body was removed to Dublin City Mortuary and the scene was preserved for a technical examination.Gardai confirmed this evening that the post mortem had been concluded but the results were not being released for operational reasons. A woman in her 50s has been arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act 1984, at a Garda station in the Dublin area.Authorities have now urged anyone with information to contact them. A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them and are seeking any available camera footage - including dashcam recordings from those who were travelling in the vicinity of the junction of Second Avenue and Cookstown Way, Cookstown, Dublin 24 between 10:00pm on Thursday 26th March 2026 and 1:30pm on Friday afternoon, 27th March 2026."Anyone with any information is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station on (01) 666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."Want to see more of the stories you love from Dublin Live?
