Dublin City Council (DCC) has launched a major programme to advance the development of 4,000 new homes across more than 30 locations throughout Dublin over the coming four years. This project represents one of the most substantial direct build housing schemes ever undertaken by a Local Authority. The scheme will see DCC develop a number of council-owned housing locations. The DCC Home Building Programme will support the Council's provision of new social and affordable homes between 2026 and 2030. Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam said that delivering homes for Dublin is one of the capital's most pressing challenges."Delivering homes at scale is one of the most urgent challenges facing Dublin and meeting that challenge requires strong collaboration. I am committed to ensuring that ambitious local authorities receive the funding and support they need to build homes swiftly and effectively, and I commend Dublin City Council for taking this initiative."Mick Mulhern, Assistant Chief Executive, Housing, Dublin City Council, added: "The Home Building Programme demonstrates our ambition in Dublin City Council to deliver high-quality housing at pace and scale on our land.
