Daniel Osbourne wants answers (Picture: ITV)
Predatory Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) has been playing Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) for a fool since the start of their relationship. Now her dirty secret is about to spill in Coronation Street, she’s got some serious explaining to do.
Daniel’s always seen himself as something of a white knight in armour, riding into save the damsel in.
He’s got a history of trying to ‘fix’ women struggling with trauma such as Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), as a way to cope with the heartbreaks in his own past such as losing his wife Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) to cancer, or being abandoned by his mother Denise Osbourne (Denise Black) as a child.
So when bubbly athletics coach Megan Walsh came along, Daniel’s head was instantly turned and he saw a chance for a happy, healthy relationship.
The truth is he was being used. Megan is a child predator who’s been grooming student Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) into an underage sexual relationship.
All Daniel ever was to Megan was the perfect cover. Dating the local headmaster gave her a respectability which allowed her to continue her illicit trysts with total impunity. Daniel was totally oblivious to Megan’s manipulations. He even got her a job at Weatherfield High, which only granted her further access to Will.

However, throughout their ‘relationship’ where Daniel has started to grow suspicious in no small part due to Will’s raging jealousy. The troubled teenager couldn’t stand the thought of seeing the woman he loved canoodling with another man, which drove him to brutally assault Daniel from behind and leave him for dead in an alley last Christmas.
While Daniel never discovered who was behind the attack, that would not be the only time he got close far too close to the truth.
The headmaster’s suspicions were roused once more when Will saw him pull up his grandad Ken Barlow’s (William Roache) car and vandalised it in a rage.
Time finally runs out for Megan (Picture: ITV/Metro)
Megan was able to convince him that Will’s jealous actions were a result of his harmless teenage crush on her. But Megan’s keeping bigger secrets. For instance… she’s pregnant with Will’s baby.
When Daniel found her pregnancy test earlier this year, Megan lied her way out of trouble yet again by claiming it belonged to a student at school. Although he’s bought it for now, secrets only stay buried for so long on the Cobbles…
Finally, Megan’s day of reckoning is finally here and it comes at the hands of plucky book-loving schoolboy, Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan). He’s been the only one who realised Megan was abusing Will, and has made it his mission to expose the monster’s true colours. Megan has been doing everything in her power to discredit Will, sabotaging his academic progress and reputation in school in an effort to keep him quiet.
