Donal Skehan teases major presenting gig ahead of Paddy's Day as he zig-zags across Irish coast
Donal Skehan has teased a major gig that he’s set to present this St Patrick’s Day, as he heads across the south of Ireland.
The chef and podcast host has popped up on our screens in many different capacities over the years, either as a chef or a singer (who could forget his Eurovision bid in 2008, which lost to Dustin the Turkey?).
Donal shared that he was ‘zig-zagging’ along Limerick, Cork, and Kerry over the last few days for a guest spot on This Morning, but has since revealed that this St Patrick’s Day, he’s heading across the pond with Fox News to host parade coverage in the States.

While Donal was in Limerick, Cork, and Kerry, he realised why we all love the country in the first place, saying he was given the famous Céad Míle Fáilte as he filmed scenes for the show, before revealing what his Paddy’s Day weekend looked like.
‘Three days zig-zagging around Kerry, Cork and Limerick filming and an amazing reminder that nobody does a welcome quite like the Irish,’ Donal wrote. ‘So many brilliant welcomes, great characters, old stories, new stories, and more incredible food than any sensible person should eat in 72 hours. Huge thanks to everyone who opened their doors and got involved this week.
‘I’m off for the weekend to cook a few proper traditional dishes before jumping back on duty with Tourism Ireland to host the St. Patrick’s Day parade coverage for Fox News across the US. Always proud to fly the flag this time of year.’

As well as this, Donal gave an encouraging update on his dog, Max — who was rushed to the vet after suffering a health scare last week — saying that while they’re trying to book him in for a scan, his symptoms are clearing.
‘Also, a big thank you for all the lovely messages about Max, he’s been making small improvements every day,’ Donal added. ‘We’re trying to get him booked in for some scans, but he’s a little less ropey, which is a huge relief.’
‘Céad Míle Fáilte.’
Donal adopted Max when he was a puppy 13 years ago, with Max living with Donal and his family in LA before they came back to Ireland.
Taking to his Instagram story on Friday evening, Donal shared that Max had a bit of a health scare, explaining that the canine was not keeping down food and was losing his balance, prompting the family to rush him to the vet.
‘Thank you for the lovely messages about Max – he had another scary day and another run to the vet today,’ Donal wrote at the time. ‘[He] wasn’t keeping down food and losing his balance – rapid eye movement and head tilt.’
Donal added that Max had ‘no major improvements, but he’s medicated and [we] think we’ve narrowed it down to vestibular disease. Again, thank you to @raheny_vet who saw him so quickly.’
