Partner of top comedian Ricky Gervais has revealed she is suffering from breast cancer
The long-term partner of comedian Ricky Gervais has revealed she is battling breast cancer.
Author Jane Fallon has posted on social media that she was diagnosed with the disease following a routine mammogram just before Christmas.
Jane shared the update with her fans on social media after people had commented about how quiet she had been in recent weeks.

Jane went on to explain how, despite having no symptoms, a routine mammogram picked up some abnormalities in her breast, and she was diagnosed with early-stage cancer.
‘I had a routine mammogram a week before Christmas. I had no symptoms, but the brilliant radiographer spotted something iffy & sent me for further tests & eventually a biopsy.’
‘Since then, I’ve had more mammograms, more biopsies, and an MRI so they can pinpoint the problem area precisely. It’s been a lot, I’m not going to lie.’

Author Jane is staying upbeat despite a worrying few weeks, telling fans she’s feeling positive and is in great hands with her medical team.
‘My surgery is scheduled for the week after next, and I just want to get it over with now,’ she told her thousands of followers.
Jane first made her name working in television before turning her hand to writing. Her debut novel, Getting Rid of Matthew, released in 2007, became an instant bestseller.
Since then, she has gone on to write 14 books, including fan favourites Worst. Idea. Ever., Faking Friends, Just Got Real, and Queen Bee
Jane and Ricky have been together for over 40 years after meeting at University, and have lived together since the 1980’s, but never married, saying they never felt the need to ‘tie the knot’.
