Emirates issues update on Dubai flights amid Middle East conflict
Emirates airline has today issued new guidance on its flight schedules for certain destinations, in light of the conflict in the Middle East. The outbreak of war on 28 February, triggered by Iran's response to US-Israeli missiles, forced numerous airlines to remain grounded due to security threats and potential drone activity in the airspace.Thousands of individuals worldwide have been left stranded in the Middle East, including Dubai, which has risen to the top of the UK government's 'no travel list', unless travel is essential. The crisis erupted when US-Israeli missiles hit Tehran, resulting in the death of its supreme leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran launched its own missiles across Dubai, Kuwait and Bahrain. The Irish Government warns to 'avoid non-essential travel' to Dubai and the UAE. The department of foreign affairs and trade states: "This is our second-highest level of warning. Countries or territories at this level have serious and potentially life-threatening risks. Our ability to provide consular assistance to Irish citizens in this location is extremely limited."Earlier this week, airlines including Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways released updated travel guidance for their flights, stating that some were resuming whilst others were suspended or operating at reduced schedules.Emirates has now confirmed it is operating services to several destinations, including a flight from Dubai to Dublin. In a statement on X, the airline announced: "Customers can check availability and book on emirat.es/bookflights. We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority."Please do not go to the airport unless you have been notified directly by Emirates or hold a confirmed booking for these flights."Customers are advised to review the latest operational updates on http://emirates.com, and check their email for any notifications about changes or cancellations to their flights before travelling to the airport."Its website additionally cautions: "We're currently operating a reduced number of flights until further notice.
