Stars from across film and television have donned their gladdest of glad rags as the 2026 IFTAs kick off. The Irish Film and Television Awards are underway at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre, with several A-listers and past and future (hopefully) Oscar winners from these shores heading to the red carpet. Leading in the film nominations with 14 nods is Cork drama Christy, which tells the story of a young man leaving the foster system and finding independence, and has earned nominations for debut director Brendan Canty, first-time writer Alan O’Gorman and three first-time acting nominees: Daniel Power, Emma Willis and Jamie Forde.
