Are UK flood warnings linked to ocean currents?
Record-breaking rainfall during January and no let-up in the downpours for many regions of the UK in February, means there are now 81 flood warnings across England and 11 more across Wales.
But it’s not just the UK that is experiencing higher-than-usual rain levels with flooding also across Europe. An ongoing research project in the Atlantic Ocean is hoping to find out how weather patterns may be affected by ocean currents. And our Chief Correspondent Alex Thomson is on board that research ship – the RSS Discovery – we spoke to him earlier.
