MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 has been raised in 12 areas across Visayas and Mindanao as Tropical Depression Basyang moves closer to the Philippines over the Philippine Sea east of Mindanao. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical and Services Administration’s (Pagasa) 5 p.m. typhoon bulletin, Basyang was last spotted 655 kilometers (km) East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
