Two Emmerdale legends not ruled out after Ray’s cause of death is confirmed

DS Walsh was back in the Emmerdale village tonight, to rule some more people out of Ray Walters’ (Joe Absolom) murder.
We learnt towards the end of last week that Ray was killed by Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards). Prior to the death, Bear had entered Tenants to find Ray attacking Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) begging for him to stop.
Bear grabbed Ray and squeezed his neck so hard, he ended up killing him. Bear had no idea that he was murdering a man in that moment, and believed he had simply injured Ray afterwards.
Dylan and Paddy worked together to dispose of Ray’s body, and then developed a plan that saw them feign ignorance to those who asked about Bear. It was all done with the intention of protecting the old man, as they both believed he shouldn’t go to prison.

In tonight’s episode, DS Walsh arrived at Smithy Cottage to ask Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) about where they were on the day Ray was killed.
Rhona said that she cancelled all of her vet appointments after learning that April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) was missing, while Marlon said he had spoken to Ross Barton (Michael Parr), and also tried to work out where his daughter had gone.
Walsh didn’t confirm if Marlon and Rhona are suspects, which left them both a bit fearful. Neither of them are probably physically capable of strangling Ray to death, but Walsh knew they couldn’t be ruled out due to the fact they might’ve asked someone else to do the job instead.
Marlon couldn’t help but be reminded of the time he was wrongly imprisoned for Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) murder. In the vets a while later, he decided to confess his secrets to Rhona, clearly fearing that history might repeat itself.

Marlon told Rhona about going after Ray with a knife and Ross also wanting to do something, which prompted her to debate telling her husband about Graham.

Once Marlon expressed his worries about Rhona looking at him in a different way because he went as far as wanting to kill a man, she knew it wasn’t the right time to tell him about her ex coming back from the dead.
Is there a right time?!
