Take note of the changes on the way next monthSome social welfare and cost of living changes are on the way next month.February will see a social welfare payment date switch and the price of a pint rising.Here are the social welfare and cost of living changes for February:February bank holidayDue to the St Brigid's Day bank holiday, banks and post offices will be shut on Monday, February 2. This results in any social welfare payments scheduled for the Monday, as well as Child Benefit due on the Tuesday, being made available on Friday the 30th or Saturday the 31st of January.Diageo price increasesDiageo is increasing the price of its draught products by a further seven cent. The hike will kick in on February 2nd.Looking ahead to MarchThe Working Family Payment will become a qualifying payment for Fuel Allowance in March 2026.
