Fans say the same thing as latest series from Derry Girls creator gets first look
Fans of Derry Girls have said the same thing as the latest series from creator Lisa McGee released its latest trailer.
How to Get to Heaven From Belfast is the latest work from Lisa, who created the iconic Derry sitcom, and is set to release on Netflix next month.
Following three best friends from school who are still close in their late 30s who are about to go on the adventure of a lifetime following the passing of a fourth, estranged, member of their childhood friend group, Netflix have released the latest trailer — following chaotic and clever TV writer Saoirse, stressed out mother of three Robyn, and dependable, inhibited carer Dara.

The 90-second clip follows the three women coming to terms with the death of their friend — and criticising each other’s fashion choices and sensitivities at a time like this — before heading to a creepy village, crashing their car, and opening their friend’s coffin only to find out that it’s not her body in it.
With cameos from Ardal O’Hanlon, the Mary Wallopers, and a Derry Girls alum in Saoirse Monica-Jackson, fans were immediately on board with the trailer — particularly after they saw Lisa’s name.
‘”From the creators of Derry Girls” oh yes I’m in,’ one commented, while another wrote: ‘the way you can feel Derry Girls character vibes from each and every character (in a very very good way) oh I am seated.’

‘Clever, chaotic TV writer Saoirse, glamorous, stressed-out mother of three Robyn, and dependable, inhibited carer Dara have been a tight-knit group since school,’ a synopsis from Netflix reads. ‘Now in their late 30s, but still as close as ever, these three friends are about to embark on the most thrilling adventure of their lives.
‘When an email arrives, telling them about the death of the estranged fourth member of their childhood gang, a series of eerie events at her wake set them on a dark, dangerous and hilarious odyssey through Ireland and beyond as each tries to piece together the truth of the past.
‘A show about friendship, memory and what happens when life doesn’t turn out quite like you’d expected.’
