James O’Brien speaks to journalist Chloe Hadjimatheou about her investigation into The Salt Path, the bestselling memoir by Raynor Winn that became one of 2025’s biggest literary scandals.
The book, later adapted into a film starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs, told the story of Winn and her husband Moth’s 630-mile walk and his terminal diagnosis - one of many claims challenged by reporting from The Observer.
Winn has strongly denied the allegations as questions grow about the memoir’s accuracy and honesty.
