Gardaí issue an update on murder suicide probe into deaths of father and son in Dublin

Gardaí have issued an update on the investigation into the deaths of father and son of 12-year-old Oísin Reddin and 48-year-old Wayne O'Reilly.The investigation was launched after the discovery of two bodies at domestic residences in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 & Clondalkin, Dublin 22, on Thursday 8 January 2026. Investigators said all circumstances surrounding the deaths are being looked into.The little boy's body was discovered dead at a residence in Lindisfarne Grove, Clondalkin on Thursday morning. The body of his father was discovered at a property in Cherry Orchard, Ballyfermot. It's suspected that he took his own life after fleeing from the scene in Clondalkin.Post Mortems on the remains of both individuals have been completed. The results are not being released at this time.Technical examinations at both domestic residences have been completed.
