Unimaginable grief: Communities rocked by deaths of father and son amid Garda update
Sinn Féin TDs for Dublin Mid-West, Mark Ward and Eoin Ó Broin have shared their deepest condolences to the communities impacted by the deaths of Oisin Reddin and Wayne O’Reilly.12-year-old Oísin Reddin and 48-year-old Wayne O'Reilly were found dead at separate addresses in Dublin by investigators on January 8. They were found at homes in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 & Clondalkin, Dublin 22.The communities have been rocked by this "unimaginable" tragedY. Investigators said all circumstances surrounding the deaths are being looked into.Teachta Ó Broin said:“The communities of Bawnogue, Cherry Orchard and the surrounding areas in Clondalkin and Ballyfermot are in shock following the tragic deaths of Oisin and Wayne O’Reilly this week. ""Our thoughts are with their family and friends to whom we offer our deepest condolences. The grief they are experiencing must be unimaginable and it is important that we all support the family and wider community at this time.” Teachta Ward said: “The community of Bawnogue is a tight-knit and resilient community and I have no doubt that they will be rallying around the O’Reilly family at this incredibly difficult time.""It is crucial that both the family, the school community of Nano Nagel and the wider community in Bawnogue are provided ever available support for the relevant statutory agencies to support them through what is an unimaginable trauma.”Officers were alerted to the scene in Ballyfermot first - where Mr O'Reilly was found deceased in a shed at the back of a property. Gardaí were subsequently alerted to the scene in Clondalkin - a mere 15 minutes away, where they discovered the child's remains. It's believed the child died by asphyxiation, according to reports.Sinn Féin councillor Daithi Doolan shared that a "deep sadness" hangs over the community following the tragedy.He said: "We didn't expect this here, you never expect in your doorstep."He added that there is "a deep sadness and, I suppose, a sense of anger at it happening at all". He said there is a "long journey" ahead for the family."But they can be rest assured, this community will be with them every step of the way as they embark on that difficult, difficult journey," he added.Post Mortems on the remains of both individuals have been completed, an update from Gardai revealed this evening.
