Erin Doherty has revealed how her mother tells her off in stern phone calls about swearing in her award speeches after she won a Critics Choice award on Sunday night.The British actress, 33, scooped the Best Supporting Actress gong for her role in Netflix's Adolescence as the limited series took home a total of four awards. Co-star Owen Cooper - who stars in the new Wuthering Heights movie - took home the award for Best Supporting Actor, beating his co-star Ashley Walters, 43.Stephen Graham won in the Best Actor category with the show, which also won Best Limited Series.Following her win, Erin appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live as she discussed the huge success of the programme around the world.During the interview, Erin revealed how she had woken up at 3am on Sunday panicking about not preparing a speech, which prompted Jimmy to ask about her Emmys speech where she she said the F-word while addressing the packed audience. Like you're not supposed to swear but I kind of just got up there and I saw everyone and I just had to tell them that they were stunning.'I know it's basically like hooray, hooray we won the Emmys, got back to the hotel, had some room service and I was like "oh my sister will be up now" so we gave her a quick Facetime with the thing [the award] and like we were all screaming and my mum just happened to be there, like they were about to go out on a dog walk.'Like we're screaming "whoa, whoa" and my mum just butts her head in and it's like "can I just interrupt? I could have done without swearing."'Erin continued: 'She wasn't like "well done" I didn't get any word of like "well done", she was just like "Erin, you really kind of messed up there."'She was a little bit there last night, which is probably just why I kind of said my thing and got off.'The actress added that when it comes to a potential win at the Golden Globes this month, she doesn't 'really know what's going to come out of my mouth'.Meanwhile, Erin recently revealed she's moved in with her NHS radiographer girlfriend Sinead Donnelly and admitted the pair have now become 'cliche lesbians'.
