[The scene] was actually what ended up being the Chrissy kill.'After impressing in the callback, he was finally called into a meeting with the creators and executive producers of Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer.Following 'a getting-to-know-one-another conversation,' Jamie said he showed the brothers a 'mind map' he created to get into his character. And upon seeing his book of photos, the stunned Duffers replied: 'Have you read the script? This is literally perfect.'But while his performance as the villainous Vecna has won him critical acclaim, Jamie admitted that getting into the character was a gruelling process, with the makeup and prosthetics alone taking more than seven hours to apply. He previously told Variety how he would come to set 'in character' and would sit 'in the makeup chair very still, not really talking to anyone.' I find it to be a very visceral experience,' the Twilight star recalled.'I had a few records that I was just constantly spinning on repeat as I'd been building the character I'd had on anyway, so there was that, sort of, subconsciousness that was coming through.'Jamie also put a lot of work into getting to grips with his costume so he could get his movements right, as well as Vecna's chilling voice. He said: 'When the costume was on, it was about applying those sensitivities that I created in my mind. The hand is this amazing thing that has all these metal wires in it, so the fingers become quite dextrous.'I would send Matt and Ross audio recordings of myself with spooky vampire music underneath it as this voice was progressing.'I've got countless videos on my computer of me doing it... well, doing it badly, walking around pretty much naked. 'Everything changed when we watched the behind-the-scenes documentaries for The Lord of the Rings - on-the-ground films that showed the real nuts and bolts of how a massive production actually gets made. 'We saw how stressed Peter Jackson was and thought: yep, that’s the dream. With the decline of physical media, that kind of behind-the-scenes storytelling has largely disappeared. 'We wanted to bring it back. One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5 - beautifully captured and directed by Martina Radwan - is our attempt to do just that. 'If you love Stranger Things, or if you’re simply curious how a major Hollywood production comes to life, this one’s for you.'
