Brothers in their 80s die in Sligo house fire

Two brothers, both aged in their 80s, have died following a house fire near the village of Easkey, Co Sligo. The pair have been named locally as Pa and Seamus Cuffe, who had been living together in the family home in Rathlee, between Easkey and nearby Enniscrone. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the overnight fire at approximately 11 am on Sunday. The two men were pronounced dead at the scene. A statement from An Garda Síochána confirmed that no other injuries were reported, and the post-mortem results would determine the course of the investigation. They added that investigations were ongoing, however foul play is not suspected at this time.
