Micheál Martin to face neurodivergent interviewers
An Taoiseach Micheál Martin will face neurodivergent interviewers on a brand new Virgin Media show hitting our TV screens in the New Year.
The Fianna Fáil leader will be among a star-studded list of guests, also including presenter Ryan Tubridy, comedian Joanne McNally, and American talk show host Rosie O’Donnell.
The Assembly, which features Mr Martin, promises to ditch the rulebook on celebrity interviews as we know them, as neurodivergent interviewers put the questions to the stars.

Virgin Media said the show featured a ‘fearless new format’ aiming to shake up Irish TV.
Premiering on January 19, the broadcaster says ‘nothing is off limits’ as each episode sees a new A-list guest put through their paces against a panel of neurodivergent interviewers ‘armed with sharp wit, unfiltered curiosity and zero interest in playing it safe.’
Ireland AM’s Muireann O’Connell will be on hand as facilitator, with plenty of raw truths and unexpected revelations promised in the new show.

Earlier this year, Ryan Tubridy’s return to Irish TV was revealed as he was confirmed as a booking for The Assembly.
The return to Irish TV will be a huge role reversal as the presenter will go from interviewer to interviewee on the new current affairs reality-style show.
The Assembly first aired in France and was a major hit with viewers, with French president Emmanuel Macron among those interviewed.

The new series is just one of the exciting shows included in the new Virgin Media Television Spring 2026 line-up, which kicks off on Monday, January 29 with Corriedale.
Other shows viewers can get stuck into includes the second season of the ‘bigger, bolder and greener’ The Salvage Squad, hosted by Brian Dowling.
The design team is back in action, proving to viewers and homeowners alike that home makeovers do not need to cost the earth.
One of the most beloved sitcoms of all time — FRIENDS — also joins the new Spring roster, with episodes airing on Virgin Media One at 7.30 pm weekdays from Monday, January 6.
Looking towards February, First Timers on the Frontline will offer a nail-biting glimpse inside the heart of frontline medicine with fresh-faced trainees thrown into the thick of it and given a crash course in courage, resilience, and razor-sharp decision-making.
Virgin Media TV said: ‘This series captures the raw intensity, emotional toll, and adrenaline-fueled reality of life on the frontline.’
