Christmas public transport schedule revealed with additional services
Transport for Ireland has released the full Christmas schedule for bus services across the country.
Dublin Bus will be scheduling additional Nitelink services, with changes in service expected on key holiday dates
Most bus services will be running normally on Christmas Eve, and last departures will be at 9pm for Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann and Go-Ahead Ireland.

However, Dublin Bus will be operating on a Saturday schedule.
There will be no services at all on Christmas Day.
For St Stephen’s Day, Bus Éireann will be running on a Sunday timetable, and most routes will start at 9am. There will be some local exceptions.

Dublin Bus will also be operating with a Sunday schedule, but there will be no Nitelink.
Go-Ahead Ireland will be using a Public Holiday timetable, starting at 9am.
Normal services will be operating for Bus Éireann and Go-Ahead Ireland from December 27 to 31.

However, Dublin Bus will be running on a Saturday timetable with extra morning peak journeys from December 27 to 30. There will be full Nitelink services on December 27 and 28.
On New Year’s Eve, Dublin Bus’ schedule will be on a Saturday timetable, with full Nitelink and 24-hour services.
New Year’s Day will be operating on a Sunday schedule for all buses and Dublin Bus will have no Nitelink.

Iarnród Éireann has also extended the Dart and commuter train schedules before and during the Christmas period.
Security personnel will be on board all late-night trains to ensure customer safety.
Late-night services will operate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, applying to trains within Dublin and commuter services to and from Maynooth, Dundalk, and Kildare.
They will also operate after New Year’s festivities in Dublin city centre, around one hour later than pre-Christmas late-night services.
