Dad at centre of Oldham murder investigation named and pictured as family pay tribute
Paul Anderson(Image: Greater Manchester Police (GMP))The family of a dad at the centre of a murder investigation in Oldham have paid tribute to a 'gentleman with a big heart' as they said their 'hearts will be forever broken.'It comes as it was confirmed a man has been charged with his murder. Police attended a property on Plumpton Close in Royton at around 7:50pm on Saturday evening (December 6) following reports of an 'altercation.'Officers and paramedics treated a 55-year-old man, but he died at the scene. He has now been named as Paul Anderson.In a statement paying tribute to him, Mr Anderson's family said: "Rest in peace Paul, a precious dad, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend who was so loved. A loveable rogue who wouldn’t hurt a soul, sadly taken from us in the cruellest way.“He was a gentleman with a big heart and an incredible sense of humour. Our hearts will be forever broken”.Police on Plumpton Close on Monday morning(Image: Manchester Evening News)Rochdale Coroner's Court confirmed a file had been passed to them regarding Mr Anderson's death.A man has now been charged with his murder. David Warren Jack, 59, of Plumpton Close, Royton has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning (Tuesday, December 9).Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for anyone with 'information that can assist in this investigation' to come forward.Anyone with information is asked to call the force on 101, or use the Live Chat service on their website, quoting log 2978 of 06/12/25.
