Troy Parrott and his girlfriend Lauren Bowry are on holiday(Image: Instagram/laurenbowry)Hat-trick hero Troy Parrott jetted into Milan for a romantic getaway with his girlfriend - just days after he secured a World Cup play-off for Ireland.The Dubliner netted three goals against Hungary in Budapest last Sunday before flying to the fashion capital of Italy on Tuesday.His long-term girlfriend, Lauren Bowry, shared a selection of pictures on her Instagram of their trip.Lauren, who is originally from Crydon in the UK, posted several photographs, including one posing in a restaurant near the Duomo di Milano and another in front of the iconic landmark.She also shared two candid snaps of Ireland ace Parrott during the trip.Troy Parrott and his girlfriend Lauren Bowry are on holiday(Image: Instagram/laurenbowry)One of which was the 23-year-old in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II while another was of him walking through the corridor of their hotel.Lauren first rose to fame on the BBC’s Little Mix: The Search, where she formed a band with four other rising popstars called Melladaze.The pair appear to have been dating for a number of years, and Lauren regularly shares loved-up snaps.It’s understood that they live together in the Netherlands, where Parrott plays as a striker for AZ Alkmaar.Before Parrott’s heroics in Budapest, he also netted two goals against Portugal the previous Thursday in the Aviva Stadium.In a pitchside interview in the moments after securing Ireland a play-off in Budapest, an emotional Parrott said: “I’m really really emotional right now… they’re tears of joy.”Parrott added: “What a night, I really can’t believe it …this is why we love football, because things like this can happen.”He said “this means the world to me” before adding “this is the first time I’ve cried in years.”Troy Parrott and his girlfriend Lauren Bowry are on holiday(Image: Instagram/laurenbowry)Parrott also said he doesn’t think he’ll ever “have a better night in my whole life” and “you can’t even dream about something like that” before declaring everybody had written Ireland off at the start of the group but it shows there is “always a chance”.Ireland now face the Czech Republic in a World Cup semi-final draw on March 26 in Prague.Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news from the Irish Mirror direct to your inbox: Sign up here.
