A married teacher has been charged after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a teenager student at a school in Texas in the US.Kara Hernandez (31), a music teacher Ronald Thornton Middle School, faces charges of indecency with a child in 2022.The mum-of-four, described by one news site as looking “like Miss Honey from the film Matilda”, is accused of making the student touch her genitals.”Miss Honey was a character in the Roald Dahl novel Matilda – which was subsequently made into a hit film.According to court documents, Hernandez made the student touch her with “the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire” of herself or the unidentified student.The allegations came to light after a ex-student spoke to district officials about the relationship.The school have confirmed that Hernandez is no longer working in the school after resigning last year.in a previous post on the school’s website, Hernandez was described as the director of the orchestra, where she works to ensure “the Sienna Orchestra students have a meaningful musical, educational, and community experience throughout their seven years.”“Mrs. Hernandez firmly believes that her purpose in life is to provide an exceptional music education for students.”In a letter sent to parents, the Ford Bend School District said an investigation was launched as soon as the claims were reported to them. “Recently, allegations of past inappropriate conduct by a Thornton Middle School staff member were brought to the district’s attention by a former student. Fort Bend ISD immediately began an investigation, and the staff member was immediately removed from the campus and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The staff member will not be returning to FBISD,” the district said.
