Moment school bus driver is caught holding his phone at the wheel as he takes children down busy road to class

This is the shocking moment a school bus driver was caught allegedly using his mobile phone while behind the wheel by a terrified pupil. The driver was photographed holding the device on the busy A4074 in Oxfordshire last week as he transported children to school. The photos were taken by George Slack, 12, and shared on social media by his father Damian as a 'last resort'. Mr Slack, 53, from Ipsden, told MailOnline he contacted the bus company Sprinters Travel twice to raise concerns about the driver's behaviour but nothing was done. He said: 'George came home from school two or three times, saying "the driver is on his phone".'I did not want him taking my kid to school. I gave him a chance. I rang the company and sent them a message but the driver kept turning up again and again. 'I told George next time he does it "take a picture" so he did.' Mr Slack, who runs a horse transporting business, said the situation was only dealt with when he shared the photograph on a local Facebook group.  This is the shocking moment a school bus driver was allegedly caught using his mobile phone behind the wheel by a terrified pupil The photo was taken by George Slack, 12, and shared on social media by his father Damian as a 'last resort'He thanked his son's school for quickly intervening and said the driver has now been suspended while his complaint is investigated. Mr Slack said: 'I understand that these things happen but what I would have expected is to report it to the company and that the driver doesn't use his phone anymore. 'Instead they didn't respond to me at all.' He added, however, that after the school took action Sprinters Travel rang him and apologised.  The A4074 has a 60mph speed limit and is renowned for its poor safety record - with Mr Slack saying he has seen a number of accidents there in the past. One stretch between Chazey Heath and Woodcote in Oxfordshire is known locally as the '13 bends of death'. It has an accident rate nearly 70 per cent higher than the average for roads of its type. MailOnline has contacted Sprinters Travel and the school, which MailOnline is not naming, for comment.  Advertisement Share or comment on this article: Moment school bus driver is caught holding his phone at the wheel as he takes children down busy road to class
