Disney+ to stream Gary Neville's The Overlap and new Manchester United show in multi-million pound deal

Disney+ has bought the rights to broadcast Gary Neville’s The Overlap podcast as a streaming war between him and Gary Lineker is set for the new football season.It was announced on Thursday (August 13) that the streaming platform has landed a multi-million pound deal with Neville’s business. Neville launched The Overlap with the former Sky Sports producer Scott Melvin in 2021.On top of securing title sponsorship, 40 episodes of Stick to Football will air on Disney+ this season. The pair will discuss the ins and outs of United’s season over 50 episodes.In good news for those who don’t have Disney+, both shows will continue to be available on YouTube. However, 20 additional episodes of Stick to Football will be exclusively available to Disney+ subscribers.Since The Overlap’s launch five years ago, it has ventured into other sports, with Michael Vaughan and David Lloyd launching Stick to Cricket last year. Neville’s company achieved 2.2 billion views across all platforms in 2025 and brings in 38 million monthly views.Neville said of the news: “We’re immensely proud to be partnering with Disney+. The show, which also features Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, booked guests such as Niall Horan, Gordon Ramsey and Harry Maguire.In the final World Cup episode, Lineker confirmed that their regular podcast will be available on Netflix for the next two seasons.
