Book Corners is a growing map of places to leave or grab a free book

Book Corners maps more than 37,000 neighborhood libraries, mostly of the little free kind but also indoor book exchanges at cafés and the like: "The goal is simple: help people discover nearby places where they can leave a book or pick one up."

You can search your area, submit a library (or report an outdated entry), and check out the source code on Github. All submissions are reviewed first for appropriateness. From the stats page, the data is mostly from France, but the U.S., Germany and U.K. are becoming well-populated.

The site is the work of Andrea Grandi, a software writer who wanted to create a practical community tool that made geospatial data accessible—and books, of course.
